FIELD: acoustic waves.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended to modulate the intensity of surface acoustic waves (SAW). The substance of the invention lies in the fact that the intensity modulator of surface acoustic waves contains a base element based on the layered structure LiNbO3 - SiOx - InSb - SiOx, while the physical basis for modulating the intensity of surface acoustic waves is the hopping mechanism of AC conduction in a thin InSb film, which represents a semiconductor quantum well with an impurity band.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of SAW intensity modulation to create an acousto-optical delay line of electrical signals.
