FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a pneumatic hammer for destruction of quarry oversized, frozen ground, concrete foundations, road surface, and similar materials, as well as building structures, when reconstructing different buildings and structures. The hammer contains a case with a cylindrical cavity, a working instrument with a shank, a cup with a central hole and a channel for air supply from a network, an annular flange with a central hole and a throttle inlet channel, an end prechamber, a striker with a through axial hole, placed in the case, and a bypass channel-groove on a side surface of the striker, a rod tube. In this case, a recess is made in an idle stroke chamber, and a radial and longitudinal channel for outlet to the atmosphere is made in the rod tube, an annular afterburner chamber is formed between the cup and the case, the annular flange is equipped with a sidewall with a radial bypass channel for communication of the end prechamber with the annular afterburner chamber, and, in a working stroke chamber, a braking chamber and a distributing chamber are made in the form of recesses separated by a shoulder, through radial bypass channels are made in the case wall for communication with the annular afterburner chamber, wherein the idle stroke chamber is communicated with the distributing chamber and the braking chamber in a position of the striker rested on the shank of the working instrument. At the same time, a bypass channel on the side surface of the striker and its end is made in the form of a screw one-inlet or multiple-inlet channel-groove with formation of recesses and protrusions conjugated to each other, while recesses of the channel-groove are made with a square cross-section.
