FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to oncology, and can be used to calculate the period of distant metastasis in patients with colon cancer and rectosigmoid junction. Before surgical treatment, the number of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in the peripheral blood is determined, the data are ranked as follows: 0 cells in 7.5 ml of blood - rank 0 points, 1-3 cells in 7.5 ml of blood - rank 1 point, 4-9 cells and more than 10 in 7.5 ml of blood - rank 3 points. ZEB1 expression is determined intraoperatively in the tissue cells of the removed tumor by the immunohistochemical method. The period of distant metastasis is calculated by the formula: T = -0.31*CTC - 0.42*ZEB1 + 43.08.

EFFECT: method allows to determine the timing of distant metastasis in patients with local and locally advanced colon and rectosigmoid cancer due to mathematical calculation of the time of distant metastasis.
