FIELD: veterinary medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of veterinary medicine, namely experimental hematology, and concerns a method for modeling iron deficiency anemia in rats. To do this, animals are given a diet that limits the intake of iron into the body for a period of 45 days. The diet consists of the following components per 1 head: sodium chloride 0.3 g, magnesium sulfate heptahydrate 0.01 g, sodium phosphate 0.4 g, calcium gluconate 0.55 g, potassium chloride 0.02 g, microcrystalline cellulose 0.25 g, tea powder 0.08 g, sunflower oil 2 g, dry abiopeptide 2 g, semolina 20 g, corn starch 0.67 g, vitamin mixture 0.003 g containing the following components, 1 daily dose: α-tocopherol acetate 0.24 mg, ascorbic acid 1.8 mg, calcium pantothenate 0.072 mg, nicotinamide 0.48 mg, pyridoxine hydrochloride 0.072 mg, retinol palmitate 0.044 mg, riboflavin 0.048 mg, rutoside 0.24 mg, thiamine hydrochloride 0.048 mg, folic acid 1.68 mcg, cyanocobalamin0.048 mcg.
EFFECT: invention provides for the creation of an effective model of iron deficiency anemia, and also eliminates undesirable side effects and traumatization of laboratory animals.
