SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the gearbox gear wheels defects diagnostics, which can be used to assess the gas turbine engine gearbox gears technical state, having a standard gearing output shaft speed tachometric sensor. Diagnosing method of gear wheel teeth defects involves removal from the sensor of the rotation signal of the output shaft of the diagnosed gear, determining the presence of a defect from the difference between the values of the frequency of intersection of the right and left envelope of the spectral line of the speed component of the output shaft of the gearbox at the selected level relative to its maximum value obtained from the tachometer sensor of rotation of the output shaft of the gearbox, which is part of the engine, obtained difference is compared with warning level.
EFFECT: simplification of the diagnostic procedure and increase in the accuracy of diagnostics of the defective condition of the teeth of the gear wheels of the gearbox of a gas turbine engine.
