FIELD: cell biology; biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to cell biology and biotechnology, in particular to matrix structures for cell cultivation, as well as bioreactors containing a chamber including such matrix structures. The specified matrix structures contain one or more layers for immobilization of cells having a surface for adhesion and cell growth and defining a cell immobilization section. Matrix structures also contain one or more separating layers containing a structure forming a winding path, which define a separating section adjacent to the specified cell immobilization section. The latter provides cell and medium passage along the surface of both the cell immobilization section and the separating section, but along the winding path. At the same time, the specified cells are effectively moved to layers for immobilization and stick in their depth. Layers for cell immobilization are made of woven or non-woven canvas. The ratio of a thickness of the immobilization section to the separating section is from 1:2 to 2:1. An outer layer of the structure is formed of one or more separating layers.
EFFECT: present invention allows for an increase in a surface for cell cultivation in a small volume, while providing circulation of a medium and cells, as well as improvement of reproduction and homogeneity of matrix structures.
