The content of total copper (Cu_total) and ceruloplasmin (CP) is determined in the blood of the pregnant woman. The percentage of the "free" fraction of copper (Cu_free) in the blood serum is calculated by the following formula: Cu_free=(Cu_total-(CP×3))/Cu_total×100. If the value of Cu_free is over 25%, foetal growth restriction syndrome is predicted in women with a BMI above 30 kg/m².
