FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to obstetrics and gynaecology, and can be used to predict foetal growth restriction syndrome in pregnant women with obesity. The content of total copper (Cutotal) and ceruloplasmin (CP) is determined in the blood of the pregnant woman. The percentage of the "free" fraction of copper (Cufree) in the blood serum is calculated by the following formula: Cufree=(Cutotal-(CP×3))/Cutotal×100. If the value of Cufree is over 25%, foetal growth restriction syndrome is predicted in women with a BMI above 30 kg/m2.
EFFECT: early prediction of foetal growth restriction syndrome in pregnant women with obesity at the first admittance at a women's clinic in the first trimester of pregnancy; accessibility, simplification of the technique with high sensitivity due to the three factors being determined in the course of a single appointment of the pregnant woman with an OBGYN.
