FIELD: metalworking.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metalworking and can be used to restore metal products with surface cracks. Before the micromelting action of the pulsed magnetic field, the cracks are filled with metal powder, similar to the material of the composition to be restored. A metal plate of the same composition as the composition of the material of the restored product is applied to the cracks, and the plate is deformed by the compressive action of the pulsed magnetic field with the energy of at least one magnetic pulse, which ensures that the metal of the said plate is filled into the cracks and the said powder is pressed. The micromelting effect of a pulsed magnetic field is provided by eddy currents in the direction transverse to the cracks at their value from 80 kA to 200 kA.
EFFECT: invention provides welding of surface cracks on a metal product without overheating of its material.
