SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metalworking and can be used to restore metal products with surface cracks. The method includes preliminary preparation of the surface of the product and subsequent exposure to it with a pulsed magnetic field, which provides micromelting of the metal in the area of cracks. Before the micromelting effect of the pulsed magnetic field, the cracks are filled with metal powder of a composition similar to the material of the article to be restored. After the cracks are filled with metal powder by the compressive action of the pulsed magnetic field, it is pressed into the cracks. The micromelting effect of the pulsed magnetic field is provided by eddy currents in the direction transverse to the cracks with the magnitude of the mentioned eddy currents from 80 to 180 kA.

EFFECT: invention provides welding of surface cracks on a metal product without overheating of its material.
