SUBSTANCE: invention concerns the method for marking an object. The device (100) for providing markings (101) made with the possibility of being located around an object (102), preferably around a conductor, contains a mechanical interface (152) for attaching the specified device (100) to the printer (200); a material interface (156) for receiving the carrier (208) of printed information as a printed product (214) in the longitudinal direction (210) sealed by the printer (200) using a printhead (202); at least one eccentric (140) mounted on the material interface (156) with the possibility of rotation relative to the axis (142) of rotation of the eccentric (140); and at least one printhead drive (141) designed to move the specified at least one eccentric (140) to the first and second rotary positions. The specified eccentric (140) is designed to move the printhead (202) and the media (208) of printed information to each other in the printing position when moving to the first rotary position of the eccentric (140) in the state of the device (100) fixed using the mechanical interface (152) on the printer (200), when moving to the first rotary position of the eccentric (140), to seal the printed information carrier (208), and when moving to the second rotary position of the eccentric (140), move the printhead (202) and the printed information carrier (208) from each other to the open position.

EFFECT: providing a device for a printing system that makes it possible to re-equip this system for marking different objects within a short time, to provide a retrofittable printing system, which, unlike an integrated system, does not show increased material consumption.
