FIELD: printers.

SUBSTANCE: printer (200) for issuing a printed product (214) is described. The printer (200) includes a printhead (202) to print a longitudinally movable (210) print media (208). Said print medium (208) contains a plurality of separate or separable labels, which are located on the carrier element (208') along the longitudinal direction (210). Further, the printer (200) includes a material interface (256) for issuing a print media (208) provided with a print by the printer (200) as a printed product (214). This material interface (256) includes a dispensing edge (201) and a support element (201') with which the specified carrier element (208') can be deflected behind the print head (202) in the longitudinal direction (210). Said dispensing edge (201) in the first position is located relative to the support element (201') so as to cause the carrier element (208') to separate the respective label. The specified dispensing edge (201) and the specified support element (201') in the second position are located in relation to each other so as to cause a deviation that captures the corresponding label on the carrier element (208').
