FIELD: printing systems.

SUBSTANCE: described is a printing system (100, 200) with a printer (200) for issuing a printed product (214) and a device (100) for providing a marking (101) located closed in the circumferential direction around an elongated object (102), preferably around a conductor. The device (100) contains a mechanical interface (152), and the printer (200) contains a mechanical interface (252), which in the fixed state are connected in a form-fitting and/or power-locked manner, preferably magnetically, so that by plane-parallel movement, partial rotation and/ or current changes in the disconnected state to disconnect said positively and/or positively closed connection, preferably a magnetic connection. The device (100) further comprises a material interface (156) in order to receive the printed product (214) issued by the printer (200) in the fixed state of the device (100), and at least one actuator (120; 122), so that in the fixed state state of the device (100) using the printed product (214) issued by the printer (200), place the marking (101) on the object (102) closed in the circumferential direction or provide for a location closed in the circumferential direction.

EFFECT: system can be converted in a short time to mark different objects, preferably to mark different conductors.
