SUBSTANCE: specified device (100) contains a material interface (156) to receive the printed product (214) issued by the printer (200); a print signal interface (104; 158) to register a control signal for dispensing a printed product (214); stop (140) to limit the longitudinal movement of the elongated object (102) along the longitudinal axis in the final position of the elongated object (102) relative to the device (100), preferably relative to the location of the marking (101); and at least one actuator (120; 122), so that, depending on the control signal for issuing the printed product (214), the marking (101) using the printed product (214) issued by the printer (200) is placed on the elongated object (102) closed in the circumferential direction, with the elongated object (102) located in the final position.
EFFECT: device (100) for marking (101) around an elongated object (102), preferably around a conductor, is described.
