FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, virology and medicine, and in particular to a method for obtaining an aqueous extract of a plant with antiviral activity against SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and herpes simplex virus type 2 HSV-2 in vitro, including leaf fermentation, extraction in purified heated water, filtration of the extract, while narrow-leaved fireweed Epilobium angustifolium L. is used as a plant, the leaves of which are withered at a temperature of 20-22°C for 24 hours with a layer thickness of 5-10 cm and periodic stirring, granulated, fermented, the fermentation of the granules is stopped by placing them in a convection dryer for 20 minutes at 110°C, then at 80°C, the final drying of the granules is carried out to a residual moisture content of 4%; to prepare the extract, the obtained granules are poured with distilled water, brought to a boil, in a ratio of 1:10 of the mass of dry raw material/volume of water, kept for 15 minutes at room temperature in the shaking mode at a speed of 15 rpm, then for 2 hours at 37°C at rest.
EFFECT: above method contributes to the production of an aqueous extract of a plant that has antiviral activity against SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and herpes simplex virus type 2 HSV-2 in vitro.
