FIELD: power supply.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a power supply system for railways. Method for determining the value of control action with an automatic decrease in the circulating current in a 25 kV traction network consists in measuring the voltages on the 27.5 kV tyres in synchronous mode, determining the difference therein, and supplying an additional voltage to the traction network to compensate for the voltage difference and thereby reduce the circulating current in the traction network. The current values on the adjacent traction substations are measured at the same time before and after supplying an additional voltage with a decrease in the circulating current in the traction network. Based on the values measured, with account to the phase of the traction substation: leading or lagging, powering the substation zone, the correcting voltage difference signal is calculated as the difference between the voltage drops in the transformer windings. The value of control action with an automatic decrease in the circulating current in a25 kV traction network is determined as the difference between the signals of the measured voltage difference and the correcting voltage difference.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of adjusting the voltage and lower power losses in the traction network.
