SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to material processing by cutting; it can be used in structures of cutting tools. A round two-sided cutting insert contains a peripheral surface of the insert, containing a set of indexing retainers located at an angular distance from each other, protruding from the surface, and a set of cylindrical side thrust surfaces of the insert, which, in a circumferential direction, alternate with the specified set of indexing retainers. An insert holder has a peripheral surface of a socket, containing at least one indexing groove and a set of side thrust surfaces of the socket. When the cutting insert is attached, with the possibility of disconnection, to the insert holder, each of the specified set of side thrust surfaces rests against the corresponding side thrust surface of the insert, and the corresponding indexing retainer is located in each indexing groove for implementation of a fixed position of the cutting tool.
EFFECT: reliable attachment of a cutting insert is provided.
