FIELD: cutting tools.
SUBSTANCE: cutting insert contains the longitudinal axis of the insert defining the front and back directions, the opposite inner and outer side surfaces of the insert, and the peripheral surface of the insert passing between them. The peripheral surface of the insert contains the back end surface of the insert and the adjacent lower surface of the insert. The cutting insert comprises two peripheral thrust ridges located at a distance that are removed from the outer side surface of the insert and run along the back end surface of the insert and the lower surface of the insert, respectively. The two peripheral thrust ridges converge towards each other at an acute wedge angle of the insert in the posterior direction of the cutting insert from the cutting edge.
EFFECT: improved reliability of the insert attachment in the holder socket is achieved.
