FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to development of surfactant systems with soft action, in particular for infants or young children, while a level of skin irritation is assessed by means of analysis of results of tests on the adult skin. A method for assessment of a depth of penetration of a surfactant to the infant skin is proposed, including: a) topical application of the specified surfactant to the adult skin; b) topical application of marker, which is caffeine, to the specified adult skin treated with the surfactant; c) measurement of penetration of the specified marker to the specified adult skin treated with the surfactant; d) use of a computing model of penetration to the adult skin for visualization of marker penetration by optimization of penetration parameters, which are selected from a group consisting of local concentration on a surface and a permeability coefficient, in such a way that a model of profiles of penetration to the adult skin corresponds to experimental data; e) transfer of optimized penetration parameters to a computing model of the infant skin; and f) determination of marker penetration in the computing model of the infant skin.
EFFECT: invention allows for assessment of a level of irritation caused by a surfactant system based on objective data without tests on young children or infants.
