FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of medicine, namely to the development of systems for skin barrier of younger children. A method is proposed for the assessment of potential impact of topical application of substance and/or composition to the infant’s skin, where substance and/or composition provides the help in skin protection and increase in its protective properties, thereby reducing marker penetration through the skin. The method includes: a) topical application of the specified substance and/or composition to the adult’s skin; b) topical application of a marker, which is caffeine, to the specified adult’s skin treated with substance and/or composition; c) measurement of the penetration of the specified marker to the specified adult’s skin treated with substance and/or composition; d) use of a computational model of the penetration to the adult’s skin for visualization of the marker penetration by optimization of penetration parameters in such a way that a model of profiles of penetration to the adult’s skin corresponds to experimental data; e) transfer of optimized penetration parameters to the computational model of the infant’s skin; and f) determination of the marker penetration in the computational model of the infant’s skin.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides for the assessment of potential impact of topical application of substance to the infant’s skin.
