FIELD: night vision equipment.
SUBSTANCE: photocathode and microchannel plate (hereinafter – MCP) are powered impulsively, and a power supply source of an electronic-optical converter (hereinafter – EOC) contains a scheme for forming pulses to photocathode and MCP, wherein a service reset pulse is formed during a non-operating cycle, which discharges the microchannel plate and capacitive components of a power supply circuit. During the non-operating cycle, powering voltage is disconnected from MCP, and it is discharged, that is does not amplify photoelectrons and does not form positive ions in MCP channels, which bombard photocathode.
EFFECT: level of scintillation effects is reduced, which allows for increase in EOC conversion coefficient and, consequently, range of night vision system.
