FIELD: quality control.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for checking quality of acoustic contact between ultrasonic transducer and ceramic product during ultrasonic flaw detection. Waves are excited in the monitored product, the waves are emitted at an angle to the product surface with the form of a hollow rotation body when performing the product ultrasonic testing by means of echo-method, the acoustic contact is checked by the amplitude of the transverse ultrasonic wave with a frequency of 1-10 MHz, once reflected from the roughness Rz 40 - Rz 20 of the monitored ceramic product surface, with one piezoelectric element, the reference values of amplitude and the reflected signal time of arrival from the surface roughness are recorded in the ultrasonic flaw detector database during adjustment.
EFFECT: invention provides possibility to improve quality of acoustic contact monitoring in order to improve accuracy of determining defects in ceramic products in the form of discontinuities, delaminations and foreign bodies.
