FIELD: chemical and pharmaceutical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, namely to a method for quantitative determination of the sum of anthracene derivatives in fresh treelike aloe leaves. The method consists in preliminary extraction of a water-alcohol extract of fresh treelike aloe leaves by single extraction with 40% ethyl alcohol in a volume of 50 ml per 1 g of ground raw materials for 60 min and subsequent quantitative determination by a differential spectrophotometry method by measuring an optical density in an alkali-ammonia solution minus an optical density of similarly diluted samples without the use of the alkali-ammonia solution, with an analytical wave length of 412 nm, with subsequent calculation of a content of the sum of anthracene derivatives X expressed in percentage per barbaloin and absolutely dry raw materials, according to the formula:
where D is an optical density of the tested solution; D0 is an optical density of a solution of a standard barbaloin sample; m is weight of raw materials, g; m0 is weight of the standard barbaloin sample, g; W is weight loss during drying, %. In case of the absence of the standard barbaloin sample, it is advisable to use for calculation a calculated value of a specific absorption indicator E of the standard barbaloin sample at 412 nm, equal to 102:

EFFECT: above-described method allows for an increase in specificity, correctness, precision and reduction in the duration of a method for quantitative determination of the sum of anthracene derivatives in treelike aloe leaves.
