SUBSTANCE: following has been disclosed: a method of quantitative determination of the amount of flavonoids in the leaves of Cephalaria gigantea, including a single extraction of air-dried raw materials with 70% ethyl alcohol in the ratio of 1 g of raw materials per 50 ml of alcohol in a boiling water bath for 90 minutes, followed by sample preparation and determination of optical density by differential spectrophotometry using a standard sample of cynaroside, and in its absence — using the value of the theoretical specific absorption index. A hydroalcoholic extract is obtained from the leaves of the giant cephalaria by a single extraction of air-dried raw materials, crushed to the size of particles passing through a sieve with holes with a diameter of 1 mm; quantitative determination of the amount of flavonoids in terms of cynaroside is carried out at a wavelength of 406 nm and the content of the total flavonoids, expressed as a percentage, in terms of cynaroside is calculated using mathematical formulas.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to quantitatively determine the amount of flavonoids in the leaves of Cephalaria gigantea in terms of cynaroside.
