FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of chemical and thermal processing, namely to vacuum ion-plasma nitration; it can be used in mechanical engineering for increase in the reliability and durability of thin-sheet products made of high-speed steel, as well as it allows for intensification of a nitration process. A method for processing of a thin-sheet steel product with an ultra-fine-grained structure in a magnetic field includes formation of an ultra-fine-grained structure of the product by plastic deformation, supply to a chamber for nitration of a working gas mixture with simultaneous generation of an electromagnetic field by an electromagnetic system, above which the processed product is placed. At the same time, during nitration, by means of regulation of induction of the electromagnetic system, the magnetic field is changed for the processed product, and a plasma concentration gradient is increased for increasing an ionic nitration speed, and, as plastic deformation, the product is asymmetrically rolled by means of two rollers, which are rotated at different speeds V1, V2, while V1=1000 mm/s, and V2=500 mm/s.
EFFECT: increase in a nitration speed, increase in contact durability and wear resistance due to formation of an ultra-fine-grained structure of material by intensive plastic deformation by asymmetrical rolling and subsequent ionic nitration in a magnetic field.
