METHOD FOR PREOPERATIVE DIAGNOSIS OF MEDULLARY THYROID CANCER Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC G01N33/58 G01N33/574 C12Q1/6806 C12Q1/686 C12Q1/6876 C12Q1/6886

Abstract RU 2819521 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to oncology, and can be used for preoperative diagnosis of medullary thyroid cancer (MTC). MicroRNA is recovered from thyroid tumour samples obtained by fine-needle aspiration puncture biopsy. Expression levels of microRNA-375 and microRNA-323 are determined. Calculating value of 1/[(expression level of microRNA-375) × (expression level of microRNA-323)]. If this value is equal to or less than 110, MTC is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method provides simplification and acceleration of preoperative diagnosis of MTC while maintaining high accuracy of analysis by using a minimum set of significant microRNAs.
