SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a contact lens, which is a polymerization reaction product of a reaction mixture containing a monomer suitable for the manufacture of a contact lens, and a condensed tricyclic compound selected from formulas III and V, where X represents O, S or NR6; Z is S; m and n are independently 0 or 1; R1 and R2 are independently at each occurrence H, C1-C6 alkoxy or -YPg; R6 is H or YPg; R7 is EWG or -C(=O)-TYPg, and EWG is in each case independently -CN; Pg at each occurrence is independently -CH=CH2, -C(CH3)=CH2; Y is independently at each occurrence a linking group selected from -O-(CH2)2-OC(O)-, -O-(CH2)3-OC(O)-, (CH2)3-OC(O)-CH(CH3)-, -(CH2)3-OC(O)-CH(CH3)-, -O-(CH2)3-OC(O)-CH(CH3)-; and T is at each occurrence independently NR6, wherein the compound contains at least one Pg group.

EFFECT: obtained contact lens containing compounds that are effective for providing targeted absorption of high-energy radiation, such as UV radiation (UV-A and UV-B range), low-energy UV radiation (from 385 to 400 nm) or HEV radiation (for example, from 400 to 450 nm).
