SUBSTANCE: biological tissue or organ substitutes for transplants and implants, as well as to methods for their production. The composition of the tissue or organ substitute contains a tissue engineering construct containing one or more bioink compositions, where one or more bioink compositions contain from 5 to 200 mg/ml of collagen; as well as a biocompatible support structure containing one or more external supports, internal supports or a combination thereof from a biocompatible material; wherein the composition of the tissue or organ substitute has a three-dimensional 3D shape, where the tissue-engineering construct has the shape of an organ or tissue; and the biomaterial is present in an amount of 1 to 100 wt.% of the biocompatible support structure. A method for manufacturing a tissue or organ substitute composition includes: manufacturing a biocompatible support structure; making a tissue engineering construct comprising applying bio-colors to or around a biocompatible support structure, wherein one or more bioink compositions contain 5 to 200 mg/mL of collagen; crosslinking the bioinks and optionally repeating the application and crosslinking steps to form a tissue engineering construct; and curing the tissue or organ substitute composition; wherein the composition of the substitute has a 3D shape, where the tissue engineering structure has the shape of an organ or tissue; the biocompatible support structure comprises one or more external supports, internal supports, or combinations thereof of a biocompatible material; and the biocompatible material is present in an amount of 1 to 100 wt.% of the biocompatible support structure.
