FIELD: perfusion devices.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a perfusion device for culturing cells and to a method for culturing cells. The perfusion device comprises: a bioreactor vessel, a first filtration unit, a second filtration unit configured to operate in parallel with the first filtration unit, and a control device. The first filtration unit contains: the first filtration system; a collection pump connected in series with the first filtration system; and a sensor. The second filtration unit comprises: a second filtration system and a second collection pump connected in series with the second filtration system. The control device receives information from the sensor about the operable state of the first filtration system and, in response to determining that the first filtration system is in an inoperative state, initiates the cessation of pumping by the first pump to collect liquid nutrient medium through the first filtration system.

EFFECT: implementation of the group of inventions makes it possible to prevent problems arising from ATF filter failures in traditional perfusion bioreactors, thereby increasing the long-term viability of cell cultures.
