FIELD: material treatment.

SUBSTANCE: used to measure the temperature and power parameters of the cutting process during drilling. The method includes fixing an electrically insulated workpiece in a lathe chuck and processing it with a drill electrically isolated from the machine, during which thermal EMF is measured using measuring instruments electrically connected directly to the drill and to the workpiece through a current collector. In this case, the drill is installed in a metal sleeve with a lever connected to a holder located in an electronic dynamometer, with the help of which torque measurements are made when processing the workpiece with a drill. An amplifier, an analog-to-digital converter and a personal computer are used as measuring tools, containing special software for registering thermal EMF values, made with the possibility of plotting a dependence diagrams.
