FIELD: fibre optic technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to splicing by soldering microstructured optical fibres with each other and with ordinary fibres. A soldering material is used, the refractive index of which corresponds to the refractive index of one of the soldered optical fibres. The molten soldering material is preliminarily applied to the surfaces to be soldered. Fix the soldered optical fibres with the help of fixtures. The soldering zone is heated to the spreading temperature of the soldering material. The contact of the surfaces between the ends of the soldered optical fibres is ensured by moving the devices in the axial direction, and the final heating is carried out in a contactless manner to a temperature below the softening temperature of the soldered optical fibres.

EFFECT: technical result consists in simplifying the splicing of microstructured optical fibres by minimizing losses in the area of their heating due to degradation of the air sheath and a corresponding change in the light-conducting properties provided by a lower operating temperature than the vitrification temperature of the material of the soldered fibers.
