FIELD: video encoding and decoding.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related in particular to a method for predicting images. A method/device for image prediction is proposed, which contains: (401) obtaining a mode of division for the current node, where the current node is a picture block in a coding tree unit (CTU) of the current image; (402) determining, based on the mode of division for the current node and sizes of the current node, whether the current node satisfies the first condition; and (403) when it is determined that the current node satisfies the first condition, performing intra-frame prediction on all coding units belonging to the current node to obtain predictors for all coding units belonging to the current node. Intra-frame prediction is performed on all coding units located at the current node, so that parallel processing can be implemented for all coding units located at the current node.
EFFECT: increasing the performance of the image prediction procedure and increasing the speed of the encoding procedure.
