Result is achieved by the fact that the method of decoding a data bit stream of an encoded video comprises the following steps: obtaining a syntax element of the reference layer by parsing the bit stream of the encoded video, where the value of this syntax element of the reference layer specifies whether the layer with the index k is a direct reference layer for the layer with the index i, where both indices i and k are integers not less than 0; determining whether layer with index j is a reference layer for layer with index i, based on value of said syntax element of reference layer, where layer with index j is a reference layer for layer with index k, where j is an integer not less than 0; and if a certain condition is satisfied, prediction of image of layer with index i based on layer with index j, where the value of the colour format-related syntax element applied to the layer with index i is the same as the value of the colour format-related syntax element applied to the layer with the index j, and where said condition is that layer with index j is a reference layer for layer with index i.
