SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a recombinant polypeptide. A method for producing a recombinant polypeptide involves culturing mammalian cells in a serum-free and/or protein-free medium characterized by a molar ratio of sodium ions to potassium ions of 10 to 1 up to 1 to 1, and where the molar ratio of the total ion concentration to the total the amino acid concentration is from 1.9 to 4, and it also involves the expression of the recombinant polypeptide.
EFFECT: invention provides high productivity of polypeptides when using the said medium for recombinant expression of polypeptides in mammalian cell culture systems.
