FIELD: reagent cartridges.
SUBSTANCE: temperature-controlled reagent cartridges and temperature control systems for such reagent cartridges are provided. An example of such a system may include a reagent cartridge having reagent reservoirs located at least partially within the interior cavity of the cartridge housing. In such an exemplary system, each reactant reservoir may be partially defined by a sidewall, and the first reactant reservoir may be spaced from the second reactant reservoir to form a fluid flow path between their respective sidewalls. A fluid inlet may be provided that fluidly connects the volume of the internal cavity to the fluid supply port of the temperature control system of the assay instrument when the reagent cartridge is received by the assay instrument; a fluid outlet may also be provided, passing through the cartridge body and hydraulically connecting the volume of the internal cavity with the fluid return pipe of the temperature control system.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of the analysis.
