FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: following method of spirulina and chlorella microencapsulation is proposed: spirulina and chlorella are mixed in equal amounts with the help of a magnetic stirrer with the addition of distilled water until a homogeneous state; the resulting suspension is mixed with an equal volume of a 5% sodium alginate solution and, using a device for microencapsulation of liquid substances is slowly introduced into 100–120 ml of a 0.2 M calcium chloride solution while stirring at a magnetic stirrer rotation speed of 800–1,000 rpm min. The formed microcapsules are separated by filtration on a Schott filter under vacuum, placed in a 0.5% of chitosan solution for 40–60 min, removed and dried at 30–35°C.
EFFECT: invention ensures the preservation of the structure of chlorella and spirulina microcapsules and the enhancement of their valuable biological properties.
