FIELD: chemistry; biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of microencapsulation of spirulina, characterized by the following: spirulina is used as the core of the microcapsules, and sodium alginate is used as the shell, characterized by the following: 5.0 g of powdered spirulina is mixed with 50.0 ml of distilled water with a magnetic stirrer until homogeneous, an equal amount of a 5% solution of sodium alginate is added, mixed and, using a device for microencapsulation of liquid substances, add calcium chloride to a 0.2 M solution through droppers with constant stirring with a magnetic stirrer at a speed of 400–500 rpm until the formation of microcapsules, the formed microcapsules are separated on a Schott filter, washed with distilled water and kept in a 0.5% chitosan solution for 30–60 min, then the microcapsules are separated from the solution by filtration and dried at 30–35°C.
EFFECT: obtaining microcapsules of spirulina in sodium alginate, having stable dimensions, without the use of toxic and flammable substances in the technological process, a higher stimulating effect on the metabolism and nonspecific resistance of animals compared to non-microencapsulated spirulina.
