FIELD: medicine; obstetrics; pathophysiology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict preterm birth in pregnant women with pneumonia caused by SARS-CoV-2 in the third trimester. Percentage of CD14+ and HLA-DR+ monocytes is determined by flow cytofluorometry in peripheral blood. The obtained values are used to calculate the prognostic index (PI) according to the formula PI = -24.487 + 0.137 × CD14 + 0.141 × HLA-DR. With PI equal to or less than -2.736 preterm labor in women with pneumonia caused by SARS-CoV-2 in the third trimester is predicted. With PI greater than -2.736, the absence of preterm labor is predicted.

EFFECT: method improves the accuracy of predicting preterm labor in pneumonia caused by SARS-CoV-2 by calculating the PI using a formula developed using the discriminant analysis method.
