FIELD: medicine, cardiology, ultrasound and functional diagnostics.
SUBSTANCE: using echocardiography in two-dimensional mode, the value of the end-diastolic volume (EDV) of the left ventricle (LV) is assessed with the determination of the Z index of EDV, LV ejection fraction, and LV sphericity index. The probability of a dilated phenotype of heart failure (D) is determined according to the original formula. With a value of D≥2.5 a dilated heart failure phenotype is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to determine the dilated phenotype of heart failure by echocardiography, which is an important diagnostic step and helps to take a decision on the most optimal further management of the patient.
