FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular, to control of converter for refining of molten cast iron. Method comprises decarburization of molten iron in converter with upper blowdown tuyere equipped with Laval nozzles installed at lower end of tuyere by blowing gaseous oxygen over surface of molten cast iron in converter by means of Laval nozzles, wherein one or both parameters of parameters, which include intensity of oxygen supply from tuyere for upper blowing and height of LH tuyere, are controlled so that index S (F) of accumulation of oxygen is equal to 40 or less.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to exclude oscillations of melted iron, explosion of bubbles and spraying due to explosion of bubbles and reduction of fluidity of cast iron.
