FIELD: aerosol generation systems.
SUBSTANCE: aerosol generating device comprises a cartridge that includes an inner wall forming an installation space into which the rod is inserted, and a chamber formed between the inner wall and the outer wall for storing the aerosol generating substance. The wick is located near one end of the installation space and has an elongated shape so that it connects to the chamber and forms a hollow part therein. The heater is configured to heat the wick. The sensing element has an elongated shape, so that at least part of it is located in the installation space. When the rod is inserted into the installation space, at least a part of the sensing element is inserted into the rod. It is possible to reduce the distance over which the aerosol travels to the rod, thereby increasing the efficiency of transferring the high temperature aerosol to the rod without significant heat loss.
EFFECT: it is possible to accurately determine whether the rod inserted into the aerosol generating device is a spent rod.
