METHOD OF TREATMENT OF CHRONIC POSTHERPETIC NEURALGIA Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61M5/00 A61H39/00

Abstract RU 2802669 C1

FIELD: medicine, neurology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to treat neuropathic pain. Patients with pharmacoresistant postherpetic neuropathic chronic pain are injected xenon subcutaneously into the area of the affected dermatome every other day according to a certain scheme. Before starting the treatment, the injection site was determined by determining the zone of maximum skin pain hyperesthesia (allodynia). Passing the brush from top to bottom with stroking movements along the paravertebral, posterior, middle and anterior axillary, mid-clavicular and parasternal lines, the zone of allodynia (hyperesthesia) was determined, lines were marked along the border with a marker so that a “geographical” zone of increased painful sensitivity, allodynia, was obtained. This area was the target for injection. Subcutaneous xenon injections were carried out in the chest area, in the area outlined by the marker. Injections were carried out every other day five times, thus, the course of treatment took 9 days. The advantage of the proposed method of the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia is its simplicity and safety, the local action of xenon with a small dose subcutaneously eliminates systemic side effects, such as sedation and euphoria, characteristic of large doses. Sequential injection into different parts of the target geographic area of allodynia makes it possible to timely identify possible intolerance to the medicinal product, as well as provide an individual dosing regimen, taking into account the localization of pain areas in a particular patient.

EFFECT: method provides strengthening of analgesic effect and its longer preservation.
