FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to ophthalmology, and can be used for deep lateral bone decompression of the orbit. To do this, a bone "window" is formed in the lateral wall of the orbit with the removal of the "triangle" of the large wing of the sphenoid bone with an ultrasonic osteodestructor. An additional bone space is formed in the projection of the expansion of the sphenoid sinus until its mucous membrane is exposed. The exposure zone is expanded using an ultrasonic osteodestructor.
EFFECT: invention provides additional volume of bone decompression of the orbit with a more significant decrease in intraorbital pressure and compression of the optic nerve.
