FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Osteodestruction is performed with formation of a bone "window" in the lateral wall of the orbit. Prior to the operation, 3D model of the orbit is obtained from the multispiral computed tomography data, and an individual stereolithographic model is created on its basis, which repeats the topography of the lateral wall of the orbit. Based on it, a measuring device with thickness of 2 mm is made with a working part corresponding to the distance from the edge of the outer wall of the orbit to the anterior border of the middle cranial fossa and with a protrusion on the proximal end of the working part with length of 5 mm, width of 1.5 mm, and a fixing part congruent to the edge of the outer wall of the orbit. Intraoperatively after the bone window is formed, the working part of the measuring device is introduced along the lateral wall of the orbit until the fixing part is installed on the surface of the outer edge of the orbit. Osteodestruction is continued until the protrusion of the working part of the measuring device reaches the anterior border of the middle cranial fossa.

EFFECT: invention provides reduced risk of dura mater injury.
