ARTIFICIAL LENS OF EYE WITH FIXATION IN CILIARY SULCUS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61F9/07

Abstract RU 2806501 C1

FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: artificial lens of the eye (IOC) is made of biocompatible material symmetrically relative to the longitudinal and transverse axes and consists of an optical part and a haptic part, with slots in it, the diametrically located end surfaces of the haptic part are made along a circular arc and are connected by straight sections located at an angle of 40–45 degrees to the transverse axis, with diametrically located arcuate sections concentric with the optical part, characterized by ICG made monolithic, in the haptic part there are two symmetrical V-shaped slits with an oval cross section with rounded tops and free ends. The distance measured between the free ends of each slot is 2–5 mm, the width of each slot is 0.2–0.5 mm, while the tops of the slots lie on the longitudinal axis of the ICG, the length of each side of the slot is 2–4 mm. In the haptic part, at the edge of the optical part, four notches are made, each 2 mm long, two on opposite sides of the haptic part, while the conventional line connecting pairs of notches is parallel to the transverse axis of the ICG, the distance between pairs of notches is 2–5 mm. The haptic part has four or eight through holes with a diameter of 0.3 mm each, located in pairs on opposite sides of the haptic part. The diameter of the optical part is 4–7 mm, the length of the ICG is 10–13 mm. The holes serve for additional fixation of the ICG when detecting a deviation of the ICG relative to its axis and its decentration.

EFFECT: use of the invention will reduce the risk of dislocation due to the monoblock design and cell migration along the haptic part, as well as minimize fibrosis in the area of the slits due to their shape and size.
