FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: creating hand-held clamping tools with quick clamping of parts and their subsequent holding without effort, including for quick positioning and fastening of some parts relative to others. A hinged tool with a position fixation contains at least first and second links hingedly connected to each other, at least one pressure part and two working parts, as well as a locking means, wherein the first and second links form at least one locking groove moving in the longitudinal plane of the tool during mutual rotation of the first and second links, the locking means includes at least one locking element placed with a gap in the locking groove, the tool is configured to maintain the initial angular position of the locking element in the transverse plane of the locking groove when forces are applied to the working parts, equipped elastic or magnetic means for creating a force under the influence of which the locking element is pressed against adjacent sides of the locking groove, and the shape of the locking groove is made with the possibility of pinching the locking element by at least one pair of converging adjacent sides of the locking groove forming an acute angle in its longitudinal plane.
EFFECT: increasing the rigidity of the kinematic chain of the tool and the reliability of clamping the object, reducing backlash when operating with the tool, improving the controllability of the fixation means, eliminating blocking of the mutual rotation of the links in at least one of the directions and increasing the ease of use of the tool.
