FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing alkylquinolines widely used in the manufacture of drugs, fungicides and herbicides, metal corrosion inhibitors, extractants and sorbents, dyes and high-boiling solvents. The method for obtaining 3-methyl-2-ethylquinoline consists in the interaction of 1,2-propanediol with aniline in the presence of a granular zeolite H-ZSM-5h with a high degree of crystallinity, having a hierarchical (micro-meso-macroporous) structure in an autoclave at 200-260°C, molar ratio of aniline: 1,2-propanediol=1:2-4, in the presence of 5-10% catalyst H-ZSM-5h, for 9 hours, in chlorobenzene.
EFFECT: increasing the yield of 3-methyl-2-ethylquinoline, simplifying its synthesis, and reducing the energy and material intensity of the heterocyclization process.
