FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: implantable lubricating medical device for implantation into a joint of a mammal contains an artificial contact surface, a reservoir, at least one channel, an operating device and an implantable inlet channel for replenishing the said reservoir. The artificial contact surface is configured to replace at least one contact surface of a joint and to be lubricated into the said joint after implantation. The reservoir contains a movable wall part defining the volume of the reservoir and at least one inlet hole configured to receive lubricating fluid from the reservoir. At least one channel at least partially embedded into the said artificial contact surface is fluidly connected to the said at least one inlet for distributing the said lubricating fluid over the surface of the said artificial contact surface. The operating device is configured to non-invasively transfer the said lubricating fluid from the said reservoir to the said artificial contact surface. The movable part of the wall is configured to move when the reservoir is refilled, increasing the volume of the reservoir.
EFFECT: invention provides an improved method of lubricating a damaged or worn joint of a human or mammalian patient, which on the one hand allows to provide sufficient lubrication of the joint, and on the other hand entails a minimal risk of infection.
