FIELD: dischargers.
SUBSTANCE: invention is a surge arrester manufacturing method comprising a casing and discharge modules. Discharge modules comprise insulating bodies and a number of electrodes placed in the insulating bodies and forming discharge gaps between the electrodes. The discharge modules are housed in a casing and electrically connected in series. The method includes the following steps: electrodes are installed in a discharge module manufacturing mold, the discharge module manufacturing mold is filled with dielectric material, the discharge module configuration is fixed, discharge modules are placed in the casing and a connection between the connecting electrodes of adjacent discharge modules is provided, the casing is covered with lids providing output of connecting electrodes of the outermost discharge modules outside the casing or ensuring that electrodes of outermost discharge modules are connected to the outer electrodes of the enclosure, or that discharge gaps with the connecting electrodes of the outermost discharge modules in the enclosure and/or the casing lids can be formed.
EFFECT: invention provides the manufacture of a surge arrester with improved reliability compared to surge arresters of corresponding voltage classes.
