SUBSTANCE: article defines a longitudinal direction extending between an upstream end and a downstream end, and includes an insert of an aerosol-generating substrate at the upstream end of the aerosol-generating article, a hollow tubular support member located immediately downstream flow relative to the aerosol-forming substrate insert, a filter segment at the downstream end of the article located immediately downstream of the hollow tubular support member. The aerosol-generating substrate insert has a length extending longitudinally between a first end of the insert and a second end of the insert. The ratio of the length of the hollow tubular support element to the length of the aerosol-generating product is 0.3 - 0.5. The ratio of the length of the aerosol-generating substrate insert to the length of the hollow tubular support element is 0.5 - 0.8.

EFFECT: simplified design, easier to use product and reduced required size of the heater.
