SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of modeling acute post-radiation pneumonitis in laboratory animals. The method is characterized by the following: intraperitoneal anesthesia is performed, topometric scanning is performed using computed tomography, the irradiation zones and the size of the absorbed dose are determined, and the animal is irradiated. X-ray irradiation is carried out from two opposite positions of the irradiator at a total dose of 16 Gy with a dose rate of 3 Gy/min in the area of the middle lobe of the left lung in an orthogonal projection.

EFFECT: invention provides modeling of acute post-radiation pneumonitis in laboratory animals, which has radiological and morphohistological signs characteristic of acute post-radiation pneumonitis in humans after high-dose ionizing irradiation of the lungs.
